Listening to the Heartbeat of God

It was a joy to Walter to minister to these young people during this intense teaching week. The worship times were extraordinary and extensive, and Walter saw an openness in the people to receive the word of God and the Holy Spirit with tender hearts. There were also moving times of turning back to God, reconciliation and inner healing. Especially deep were the moments when he spoke about God's love and compassion for the poor, people living under opression and in need. Tears were flowing everywhere. In between he listend to heartbreaking stories of pain during escapes, the separation from beloved ones, injustice and abuse, stories he will probably remember forever.

A young man told him, that he escaped as a 14-year-old from North Korea and came to China. There he got arrested and was taken to jail, only to be sent back to North Korea after two months. Back to North Korea he was immediately imprisoned. Luckily he „only" got arrested and wasn't sent to any of the concentration camps. He was too young. Later he escaped again and managed to get to South Korea.

A new Generation

At the end of his Korea trip, Walter was invited to speak in a youth church in Seoul twice one Sunday. The service started at 9:30 am and closed at 8:30 pm. The worship lasted for hours - not too long or boring in any way to anyone present. The Holy Spirit moved in power. He came over the congregation in waves and soaked the people in his presence over and over again.
We are specially grateful to the 25 members of an international team that organized for and helped to carry out the teaching week as well as the services in Seoul. God has opened another door for FCJG Horizon to Asia, and this was definitely not the last trip to this wonderful country.

Korea – North and South – are desperate for our prayers!
Right now there is a new generation rising up that hopefully will get to see the end of a 60-year-old separation. Over 20 years ago we saw this miracle happening in Germany.  Therefore why shouldn't it be possible at the other end of this world? We know that nothing is impossible for our God ... or in other words: Our God is able to do anything! Let's pray for a peaceful reconciliation and restoration, and let's remember all those – including the Christians – who are living under unbearable pressure, hunger, persecution and who are in need in North Korea.
