Autumn Term & Monthly Participation

Herbst TrimsterMissions here & now and in the nations
Go into the harvest alongside the Holy Spirit! This was more or less Jesus' last will before he ascended into heaven to be with his Father. Make disciples everywhere you go ... now and here and even go unto the ends of the earth ... in the power of the Holy Spirit.

For three years the disciples lived and travelled with Jesus, and this was by far the coolest and most effective DTS ever. Then Jesus commanded them to go themselves, however, they were not to go immediately and not all alone by themselves. "WAIT until the Father sends his promise. WAIT until the power of the Holy Spirit fills you up and transforms you to be my witnesses." And that's why we choose to make room for the Holy Spirit, so he can fill, change and transform us in mutual prayer and worship times, during counseling, in teaching sessions as well as in the daily grind of our lives.

Of course, there is much to learn and adopt regarding missions. GET READY's studying technique is this: Learning by doing and learning from those who live what they talk about. We are inviting guest speakers who are travelling the nations, who are serving and ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit and who are conveying fundamental biblical teaching. Missionaries who once attended the school themselves and are now out on the mission field under HELP International will share what everyday life in missions looks like.

Consequently we are going on outreaches into the nations. The dates you find here

Speakers: Walter Heidenreich (FCJG Horizon), Martin Rohsmann (HELP International), Thomas Erkens (HELP Philippines) and missionaries working under HELP International.

In the months to come we will invite further guest speakers.

General information & schedule

September – Vision for Mission

Why missions? How do I know if and where God is calling me? Am I qualified for missions? What does it mean to leave family, friends and everything I am used to behind and to go and live long-term in another country? Do I really have to go abroad in order to be a missionary? You are invited to go into depths and find out for yourself. Come and allow the Holy Spirit to touch your heart, to broaden your horizon and get into God's adventures with and for you.

Dates
We are still processing with planning this term. In the course of the months to come you will find dates for September here.

14-06-inidien-03October – Go unto the Ends of the Earth
"Already as a child I wanted to be a missionary. Due to my conservative church background I thought: Well, I guess I have to become a nun in order to be a missionary. Years later I heard of the school in Lüdenscheid which has been designed for ordinary people to be trained as missionaries! These are married couples, unmarried men and women and families. Some have gone to the mission field for long-term, others have stayed for a while here and there. And some have gone from Lüdenscheid back to their home countries. Awesome! Mission is not fusty or old fashion, but the daily grind of ordinary people who are walking with Jesus. That's so exciting and anything but ordinary!"

This is a statement of a former student. Living mission experience, everyday life in another country and culture, and how to support missions and missionaries while you are staying back home – this will be October's focus.

We are still processing with planning this year. In the course of the months to come you will find dates for October here.
