Statement on Criticism

We hereby want to take a stand with view to recent criticism which was posted and published about us – FCJG community – on various platforms. Up to now we have neither responded to any of the criticism, nor have we released a statement as we regard above platforms as unsuitable for any constructive and effective communication.

However, even though the form of criticism has not been very helpful, we still want to take the people behind it seriously.

The FCJG community is not only an organization focusing on structures. We understand ourselves as a family based on mutual trust and aiming for one goal.
The FCJG community was birthed 49 years ago, and from its beginnings, with view to our community life and ministry, we have always been an missionary movement and no church. With regards to the dynamics of this movement, we have reached thousands of people with the gospel – locally and internationally. Most of those have entered into a vibrant relationship to God and received spiritual strength, deliverance from addiction or have moved on to the mission field.

Besides all the good that we have seen and experienced together, people also got hurt along the way. We are truly and deeply sorry for what has happened to individuals. It is our desire to face these things on the basis of mutual forgiveness and reconciliation so that both parties are able to freely move one.

Those who have expressed their criticism in posts are presently not in touch with FCJG. They describe situations and incidents from their perspective.
Therefore we believe it is sensitive to offer individual talks to those who approach us with a heart that is willing to reconcile, and to make room for mutual forgiveness and reconciliation.

Finally: We were accused of “systemic abuse of power” – without naming situations or incidents. We unequivocally deny this allegation. Above term implies both a planned course of action and malicious intent. Such behavior is unacceptable to us and will not be tolerated. Furthermore, it contradicts the values we are living by as community. The FCJG community is no “system”, but a movement (as outlined above).
