God is faithful

"God is faithful, by whom you were called to the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:9)
With this word, we warmly greet you from Lüdenscheid and hope and pray that you are doing well in all things, and that you are safe and healthy. Last week, we returned from a very blessed ministry trip to Thailand. During the first two weeks of February, Walter traveled to various places across the country. He had the opportunity to speak in churches and ministries and visit good friends. The following three weeks, we were together as a couple in Pattaya. Walter preached in churches, and we were together with our team from HELP International, which has only been based there for about five months. They are diligently studying the language, launching and building a new ministry, and helped prepare for our biannual HELP staff conference. Our missionaries came from different nations, and we had a wonderful and blessed time together. Over 60 people came just from Mongolia (three of them can be seen in the photo on the left). Together, we formed a colorful and joyful community.
ASIA Conference
The highlight was certainly the subsequent ASIA Conference, with participants from over 15 nations. It was the first of its kind organized and led by HELP International in Asia. Jackie Pullinger-To, a long-time friend from Hong Kong, Mel Tari from Indonesia/USA, Brother Yaqub from Pakistan, Steve Goode from Thailand, Jerome Ocampo from the Philippines, Sandy Anderson, an Indian, and many others came, preached, and shared stories from their countries. Some of the listeners were moved to tears. Many Christians face daily persecution and are in desperate need of our prayers and support.
Jesus says, "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within him." (accord. to John 7:38) By this, he means the Holy Spirit, which all who believe in him will receive. Isn't it wonderful that we, as disciples of Jesus, can carry something so precious within us – something indestructible that endures even beyond death? Hallelujah! This richness of God's grace is so overwhelmingly abundant that there is always enough for us and for others.
In addition to his conference appearances, Walter had the opportunity to proclaim the Gospel twice in the heart of Pattaya. He loves speaking outdoors. The audience is a diverse mix, often skeptical about faith, and many are living in very "unholy" ways. In other words, precisely the type of people God loves. And indeed, several people publicly gave their lives to Jesus.
Thank you for your prayers and support. We will hear much more good news from Thailand in the coming years.
2024 – A Year of Celebration
Personally, this year, if God wills and we live, will be a year of gratitude and celebration for us as a couple: Walter will celebrate his 75th birthday, Irene her 70th birthday. We are celebrating 50 years since our rebirth through the Holy Spirit, and with it, 50 years of full-time ministry. From the very first moment, we knew that we wanted to serve this wonderful God, and so we sparked a small revival in our hometown. And since we were very serious about discipleship, we got married 50 years ago! We are celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary! Anyone who knows our book Help – I Need Somebody will know what we are talking about. It describes this turbulent time. We are happy and grateful that Jesus has been by our side every step of our life’s journey together, giving us direction and purpose, and will continue to lead us safely. He is the best thing that can happen to anyone, and He will continue to lead us when we move from this planet into eternity. As an anniversary gift, we are treating ourselves to a long vacation! And, as usual, we will also be traveling for ministry – to Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Mongolia, and of course, Germany.
Thank You
We are so grateful to you for your friendship over all these years. May the friendship and faithfulness of God lead you and keep you. You are such a blessing to us and to many others.
With this in mind, receive a loving embrace and be assured of our prayers.
