Mountain-moving Faith
The apostles said to the Lord, „Increase our faith.” And the Lord answered, “If you had faith even so small like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea”, and it would obey you. (Luke 17:5-6)
Isn’t Jesus answer interesting? Instead of bringing a strategicmessage, he refers to something little, something tiny. You can hardly see it with your eyes. However, the mustard-seed-faith is active and bears deeds of faith. The Holy Spirit reveals something and with our trust rooted in him, you speak it into being. This kind of faith exceeds by far mere conviction and any religious sentiment. It is deeply rooted in the heart and spirit of the believer and he responds with obedience.
God is in Control
In Mark 11:22-23, Jesus says,
Have faith in God constantly. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be lifted up and thrown into the see!” and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
Jesus was well acquainted to this kind of faith - he breathed it in and out. He trusted his Father in all things - no doubts whatsoever. His Father was fully in control no matter the situation. Jesus’ freedom didn’t depend on how people treated him or what the political situation looked like. He even trusted his Father when he was hanging at the cross and his Father left him.
This trust, this faith is our guideline if we are his children. He is always good even though we go through seasons that seem to take us on a rollercoaster. This kind of faith – whether big or as tiny as a mustard seed – only works the Holy Spirit in us.
Draw closer to God
The year 2025 is coming to a close. It was filled with so much joy and precious people, with letting go and gathering, tears and laughter. With big and small challenges to our faith. Hoever, this faith connected us with people from many nations. A couple of weeks ago, Walter has come back from Manila. He gathered HELP leaders from different nations in order to spend time together in the presence of God. No program - just worship and prayer and waiting on God. The bible gives us the following instruction, “Draw close to God, so he will draw close to you.” Of course, our community in the Philippines welcomed and appreciated Walter’s encouragement, and so did the churches he ministered to.
Pakistan
In 2026, we going for a very special ministry trip. Pakistan is calling and the Christians have asked us to come. You may know that the Christians in this nation are living under oppression and have a hard time. Walter wants to go to Pakistan again, to invest into and support these precious people. We would be most grateful if you prayed with and for us and supported us with finances to bless Pakistan (please name your donation "Pakistan" if you want us to use it for this purpose). Thank you very much in advance!
From the Bottom of our Hearts
We are blessing you with mustard-seed-faith. May your faith and confidence in the Holy Spirit be strengthened and grow in this Christmas season.
Thank you for your faithfulness and friendship! “And so faith, hope and love abide, but the greatest of these is love.”
(1 Cor. 13:13)
