The Grace of God

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!" 2 Corinthians 13:14

Walter reports from Norway: "I'm finally getting around to writing a letter to my friends. I was able to go on a revival city tour through this beautiful country. Thanks to Olaf Olsen and Linde Hals, who were my travel companions and interpreters.

Tying the knots

Norway and Germany have a common spiritual history that is well worth thinking and praying about. In 1907, two Spirit-filled Norwegian women came to Germany and were instrumental in bringing many people into contact with the Holy Spirit. God had mercy on our country and breathed new life into his people. But instead of celebrating this, after some time a lack of spiritual leadership led to the so-called Berlin Declaration, in which the work of the Holy Spirit was demonized. The Norwegian sisters repeatedly asked the then leadership of the revival to please test and discern the spirits, but this was in vain.

This reaction had extremely grave consequences. Two World Wars with unspeakable suffering for many people emanated from our country. We did not shy away from attacking God's chosen people and almost exterminating the Jews in the Holocaust. At the end of this dark time, our country was divided, and a massive wall displayed what had also happened in the spiritual realm: a division! Thank God not all leaders signed this 'Berlin Declaration', so this dark hour also marked the birth of the Pentecostal movement in Germany. Hallelujah!

All this is stirring my heart, and I hope and pray that Norway and Germany together will get another chance from God to bless Europe and the nations. We really encourage you to read the book "Sie flicken die Netze" (Repairing the Nets) by Ernst Giese.

From East to West

In the first four months of this year, we have already been to Uganda, the Philippines, Pakistan, Austria and Norway. Each trip was an adventure in itself. It is fascinating to see how different life circumstances can be, and yet the hunger for God remains the same. Everywhere his people live the gospel with devotion. People are converting and cleaning up their past, getting baptized and experiencing what it means to be born again.

It is so refreshing and invigorating to be a witness to all of this – but it also drives us into prayer. Especially in Europe, we need the Holy Spirit more than anywhere else. To this day, the resistance to the Holy Spirit is stronger on our continent and especially in Germany than anywhere else in the world. We pray that God will once again give us grace for a true revival and a great harvest of otherwise lost people. Please pray with us!

Thank you ...

... for standing with us in friendship, prayer and support. Our next trips are already being planned. We will be going to Switzerland, Austria and from there to the Czech Republic and then to Japan. May the Holy Spirit give you courage and be a constant companion in your lives. There is nothing better!
