We hope that you are all doing fine and that you are of good heart in these challenging times. It’s not only COVID-19, but also wars, riots and calamities all around the globe, which draw our attention, and more than ever, we are challenged to be spiritually on gueard and to pray.
»Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory and brilliance of the LORD has risen upon you. For darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness will cover the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and his glory and brilliance will be seen on you.« (Isaiah 60:1+2)
Efficiency
The good works of God are most impacting and efficient in times of challenges and need. His promises are encouraging and show us the way. He saves and he is the God of hope and victory. Therefore, let’s continue to spread his love and truth uncompromisingly in faith. We are commissioned to do this in season and out of season, however, the means of action vary. Walter was requested to speak in conferences and churches in nations like Pakistan, Nepal, New England, Texas, Mongolia, the Philippines and Germany, of course, via ZOOM. Many prayer events took place, and while COVID-19 kept the world at breath, God's people all around the globe was praying fervently.
In this tense season, we went to Vienna, where we encouraged our HELP-FCJG Vienna team and ministered to young leaders from Austria as well as in one church. A highlight of this trip certainly was the visit to the Cistercian Monastery Holy Cross in Austria, where the abbot and his monks warmly welcomed us.
Burning Hearts Summer
Back to Lüdenscheid, we headed right into five weekends of Burning Hearts Summer. This unique event had its home in a big tent on Prayer Mountain for the Nations. Every weekend had a different emphasis, i.e. 1 Day of Fire (a Youth Burning Hearts incl. a 24-hour-prayer-chain) or the Burning Hearts Kids Day. Some speakers joined via ZOOM, while others travelled to Lüdenscheid. Walter was all in his element.Besides this event, we did street outreaches on a greater scale. People prayed to Jesus, they got encouraged and several got healed. Since this summer, we have been gathering in front of Lüdenscheid's city hall once a week praying the Lord’s Prayer on our knees.
We have just returned from Pfullingen (Black Forest region). A friend of ours celebrated his 30th conversion anniversary. Walter spoke in the celebration and preached the next day open air.
Everything is possible!
Throughout these weeks, we have seen that so much possible. No COVID-19 restrictions can stop the Holy Spirit from moving. God’s people unites as one and his Spirit doesn’t spare any denomination. He moves wherever people humble themselves and open up to worship Jesus and glorify the Father in heaven. Personally, we are praying for understanding in order to be able to discern what God actually wants to say to us in and through this crisis.Thank you for your prayers, your friendship and all financial support. He is faithful and he is always there for you!
Blessings to all of you,
Walter & Irene Heidenreich
